WE'RE HOME!
It is with great joy that we write to you from our home in
Mexico! We are excited about being back to the place in
which God has called us! The church families
(Aguascalientes,
La Labor and San Pancho) joined together to give us a
"Welcome
Home Celebration" on June 29th. We are very blessed to be
working with people excited about the Lord's work. Bro.
Rafael
and Bro. Rafa did a fine job in our absence. There are
several
new families in each of the works and for that we are
thankful.
Bro. Rafa preaching during our "Welcome Home Service". We
have certainly hit the ground running. We have had church
camp, a teen retreat, Anniversary Sunday and a
"Back-to-School" campaign since our return.

SOULS SAVED AND BAPTIZED
The Lord has blessed and we have seen souls saved and
baptized
almost on a weekly basis. For some believers it can be a
very emotional time, as it was with Bro. German and
Rosalba. Both were saved as a result of the testimony of
Rosalba's mother, Ofelia.

Ofelia accepted Christ and was baptized the week before we
left for furlough (September, 2007). This past year has
been very difficult for them. Their family is not only
Catholic by tradition, but by practice. For them to be
baptized into the Baptist Church was a tremendous step of
faith on their part.

Please pray for them and their family. They are undergoing
extreme opposition from the rest of their family as well as
their neighborhood. The priest in their neighborhood,
which is the same neighborhood the church is located in,
has placed an order against them not to sell goods to them
as long as they continue to attend the Baptist Church.

A young lady by the name of Ruth has also been baptized.
She was
saved several years ago during a Kid's Club in Los
Negritos. Her uncles beat her when she told them and she
was forbidden to attend again. She is now 18 and sought
out the church so that she could be baptized. She has been
attending faithfully and is growing in the Lord.

BUILDING NEWS AND NEEDS
Bro. Rafael and his wife, Carmela, have moved to the
property to help prevent more theft and vandalism. We have
converted the small building (used for our nursery, office
and children’s church) into an apartment for them. The
church has been raising money for the blocks needed to
build the nursery and office inside the Auditorium
building.

The kids classes are now meeting under the pavilion.
Because of needing to do this, we have an even greater need
to begin construction on the Sunday School building. If you
can be of help, please mark any offerings as “Sunday School
Building”. Thank you for making it possible for us to
serve in Mexico.
